TRANSGENDER ACTIVIST TO SPEAK AT SLU

CANTON – International transgender activist and author Leslie Feinberg will 
give a talk at St. Lawrence University, titled "Trans Liberation: The Basis 
for Unity," on Tuesday, April 27, at 7 p.m. in Gulick Theatre. A book-signing 
will follow the event, which is open to the public, free of charge. 
Feinberg's books are available in Brewer Bookstore.
	Feinberg is the author of Transgender Warrior: Making History from 
Joan of Arc to RuPaul; Trans Liberation: Beyond Pink and Blue; Stone 
Butch Blues and Trans Liberation: A Movement Whose Time Has Come, and is 
at work on a new novel, titled Drag King Dreams. Feinberg has participated 
in activist events including Stonewall 25, and has spoken at such events 
as the Transgender Education Association in 1994. As an activist, Feinberg 
urges all of humanity to be more loving, understanding and accepting of 
all people, and as an author she shares her personal stories and research 
about being part of the transgendered community.
