Fall Festival October 21 At SLU's Wachtmeister Field Station
CANTON - St. Lawrence University's biology honor society, Beta Beta Beta, will hold a Fall Festival at the University's Wachtmeister Field Station on Friday, October 21, from 2 to 5 p.m. The event, which includes activities for everyone in the family, is open to the public free of charge; donations to benefit Friends of Bittersweet Farm, a non-profit educational division of Bittersweet Farm supporting sustainable farming and community-based learning in our community, will be accepted.
St. Lawrence faculty and students in biology, chemistry, geology and environmental studies will demonstrate some of their work, while involving participants in an appreciation of nature and ecological study. Planned activities include:
- GPS Geocaching Scavenger Hunt
- Mammal Skin and Specimen Study
- Find the Oldest Tree in the Kip Tract
- Apple Cider Pressing
- Fly-Fishing Clinic
- Lake Bacteria Sampling and Viewing
- Pumpkin-Carving and Painting
- Fungi Workshop
