From the Canton Police Department: On December 14, 2004 St. Lawrence County Coroner Russell B. Lawrence received the results of the toxicology tests performed on Adam M. Falcon. The tests revealed that Falcon’s blood alcohol level was significantly higher than the legal limit and that there were no other drugs present.

The New York State Liquor Authority also met on this date and determined that there was not enough cause to do an immediate revocation of the Tick Tock’s liquor license.

The NYS Liquor Authority did say that the Tick Tock is being charged with two counts of “Sale to a Minor,” two counts of “Sale to an Intoxicated Person" and two counts of “Improper Supervision.” The Tick Tock has until December 27, 2004 to answer these charges.

With the deepest sadness possible, I write to mourn the loss of Adam Falcon ’06.

At 10:00 p.m. Canton Police provided the following information to St. Lawrence:

On November 18, 2004 at approximately 4:55 p.m., the body of the missing St. Lawrence University student Adam Falcon was located, deceased, submerged in the Grass River in the Village of Canton by the St. Lawrence County Dive Team.

Adam M. Falcon was last seen by patrons of a local tavern located within the Village as he was leaving the tavern at approximately 1:30 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2004. He was reported missing to Canton Village Police by Robert Durocher at approximately 10 p.m. that same day after he failed to show up for a soccer game on Saturday Afternoon.

Canton Village Police initiated a search for Falcon on Sunday at about 8 a.m. with assistance from the Canton Fire & Rescue, St. Lawrence University Safety & Security, the men’s and women’s soccer teams and other members of the St. Lawrence University family.

As the week progressed the Department was joined by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, NYS Police, K-9, Aviation and Identification Unit, NYS Forest Rangers, SUNY Canton Police, St. Lawrence University Safety & Security, the Federation of Search and Rescue Personnel and Canton Fire and Rescue, St. Lawrence County Dive Team, Ogdensburg City Fire and Police, and the Potsdam Police Department.

The cause and manner of death have not been determined at this time and the investigation is continuing into the circumstance of Adam’s death.

All the agencies involved in this investigation extend their heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Adam Falcon.

In a separate story, we have read that St. Lawrence County District Attorney Jerome Richards is quoted as saying “There is no indication of foul play.”

Adam’s family and friends, who have been with us in Canton as law enforcement and volunteers searched for Adam, know how much we cared about him and how much we will miss him on campus. Adam’s tenacity as a member of the soccer team, his talents in the arts, his interest in the sciences, and his warm friendship with so many are qualities we’ll remember always.  We will continue to offer the Falcon family our support in the coming days and weeks; we will, of course, work with them to meet their requests as they memorialize their son, grandson, brother and friend.

Dean-Eaton Formal Lounge is open now as a place for community members to gather in support of each other.  Counseling Services staff is available to meet with students tomorrow and after the break as needed - just call 5391 to schedule an appointment with a counselor. If a counselor is needed after hours, one is always on call and can be reached by calling Security (5555) and asking to speak to the Counselor on Call. Faculty and staff members should also feel free to call the Counseling Services office to consult about any student concerns they might have.
