Ensemble Chaconne, Period-Instrument Trio, Performing At SLU
CANTON - Ensemble Chaconne will perform a program called "European Masters in 18th-Century London" on Saturday, October 1, at 8 p.m. in Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall at St. Lawrence University. The event is open to the public, free of charge.
Celebrating its 25th season in 2010-2011, Ensemble Chaconne is devoted to vivid, historically informed performance of music from the 16th through the 18th centuries. Since 1985, the group has performed widely. The ensemble was selected as featured performer at The Royal Shakespeare Company's 2006 Residency Project with Davidson College; has been commissioned by world-renowned museums to perform themed programs for major exhibitions; and has given premieres of new works by leading American and European composers.
