Paul Graham ’99, associate professor of English, was interviewed by the website BooksAboutFood.com.
Graham discusses in the interview his new book, In Memory of Bread (Penguin Random House, 2016) after being diagnose with celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder caused by a sensitivity to gluten. In the book, he connects his own experiences with the disease to the broader historical and cultural experiences with wheat, bread and other gluten-containing grains. The book has been reviewed by The Washington Post and a Baltimore Sun podcast.
