EARLY MUSIC ENSEMBLE AT SLU TO PERFORM

CANTON -- The St. Lawrence University Early Music Ensemble 
and Early Music Singers will perform in concert on Thursday, 
May 4, at 8 p.m. in Gunnison Memorial Chapel on campus. The 
event is open to the public, free of charge.
	Music from the medieval, Renaissance and Baroque eras 
will be played on instruments from the Romer Collection. Included 
will be Renaissance dance music by Michael Praetorius and Pierre 
Attaignant; Quartet in D minor for flute, violin, recorder and 
continuo from Tafelmusik (table music) by Georg Phillip Telemann; 
Missa Ave Maris Stella of Josquin DesPrez; and Chant of 
Hildegard von Bingen.
	The ensemble is directed by Barry Torres, director of 
choral activities at St. Lawrence. For more information, contact
