RENAISSANCE MUSIC, DANCE OFFERED IN SLU PROGRAM

CANTON -- St. Lawrence University's Early Music Ensemble Singers, 
with the Early Music Ensemble Players and Dancers, will present "an 
afternoon of devotions and entertainments from Renaissance England" 
on Sunday, April 29, at 4 p.m. in Gunnison Memorial Chapel. The event 
is open to the public, free of charge.
	Works from the courts of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I will be 
performed, including sacred works by Taverner, Tallis and Gibbons; 
madrigals by Morley, Wilbye, Purcell and Bennet and English country 
dances played and danced from the Playford's "The English Dancing Master."
	The ensembles are directed by Director of Music Ensembles 
Barry Torres.
