A List 4/23/01 RENAISSANCE MUSIC, DANCE OFFERED IN SLU PROGRAM CANTON -- St. Lawrence University's Early Music Ensemble Singers, with the Early Music Ensemble Players and Dancers, will present "an afternoon of devotions and entertainments from Renaissance England" on Sunday, April 29, at 4 p.m. in Gunnison Memorial Chapel. The event is open to the public, free of charge. Works from the courts of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I will be performed, including sacred works by Taverner, Tallis and Gibbons; madrigals by Morley, Wilbye, Purcell and Bennet and English country dances played and danced from the Playford's "The English Dancing Master."
