CLASS OF '75 AUTHOR IN SLU WRITERS SERIES EVENT
CANTON - Author David Lloyd '75 will speak and read from recent work at St. Lawrence
University on Thursday, April 6, at 8 p.m. in Herring-Cole, as part of the University's
Writers Series. The event, also part of the celebration of St. Lawrence's Sesquicentennial,
is open to the public, free of charge.
Lloyd is the director of the creative writing program at LeMoyne College in Syracuse. He
is the author of Boys: Stories, as well as a novella and two works of poetry, The Gospel
According to Frank and The Everyday Apocalypse. Lloyd has also published Writing on the
Edge: Interviews with Writers and Editors of Wales and an anthology entitled The Urgency
of Identity: Contemporary English-language Poetry from Wales. He has been awarded the
Poetry Society of America's Robert H. Winner Memorial Award and a Distinguished Scholar
Fulbright Award for residence at the University of Wales, Bangor.
His reading is supported by St. Lawrence's Sandra Nelson Memorial Poetry Fund.
