St. Lawrence To Award North Country Citation To Dine Kennedy
CANTON - Dine Kennedy, of Canton, is the recipient of St. Lawrence University's North Country Citation this year. The citation will be presented at Commencement, on Sunday, May 16, at 10 a.m.
The University annually awards the North Country Citation to an individual or group from the region who, through professional and volunteer endeavors, has improved the quality of life in the North Country.
An exemplary community volunteer, Kennedy served 10 years as Benton Board of Canton Free Library president (1993-2003); is co-chair of the Traditional Arts of Upstate New York (TAUNY) Evergreen Campaign; and has served as a member, vice chair and chair of WPBS; a member of the North Country Public Radio advisory board, the Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley board of trustees and a volunteer with the Hospital Guild of Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Her husband, Joseph L. Kennedy, is president of SUNY Canton.
