DIDJERIDU VIRTUOSO TO PERFORM AT ST. LAWRENCE

CANTON - Didjeridu master Stephen Kent will perform in concert at St. Lawrence University on Wednesday, April 25, at 8 p.m. in Herring-Cole. The event is open to the public, free of charge.

In a career that spans decades, Kent has produced or collaborated on well over a dozen CDs. The didjeridu is an instrument of the Australian Aborigine people. Kent first became acquainted with the didjeridu in 1981 while living in Australia as the music director of Circus Oz. While he has great respect for Aboriginal people and their culture, Kent does not imitate traditional styles on the didjeridu. Instead, he has pioneered his own unique style, with the instrument at the center of his many compositions in contemporary music.
