Mountaineer & Photographer Dave Anderson Speaking At St. Lawrence

CANTON - Mountaineer and photographer Dave Anderson will give a presentation titled "What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger," a light-hearted look at the adventures and lessons learned from 25 years of expeditions around the world, on Wednesday, February 2, at 7 p.m. in Room 123 of the Griffiths Arts Center at St. Lawrence University. The event is open to the public, free of charge.

Anderson's presentation will include his stunning images and video clips from climbing frozen peaks in Alaska, riding camels across the Gobi Dessert and milking yaks in Tibet, in addition to stories of near-disastrous falls, being hopelessly lost, dealing with broken-down vehicles, weathering air-travel mishaps and even a few encounters with automatic weapons.

Anderson is a professional climbing and mountaineering guide, photographer and writer. For the past 15 years his work has appeared in publications including Climbing Magazine, The American Alpine Journal, National Geographic, The New York Times, Sports Illustrated, INC Magazine, Patagonia, Black Diamond, Globe/Pequot Press and publications for the National Outdoor Leadership School, NOLS. He has given over 200 multi-media presentations about his adventures, both personal and professional, which have taken him to 15 countries on four continents.
