
A List 5/2/05 FOUR TO BE HONORED AT SLU'S COMMENCEMENT MAY 15 CANTON – St. Lawrence University's Commencement will be held on Sunday, May 15, at 10 a.m. on Creasy Commencement Commons, with the three recipients of honorary degrees each offering brief remarks. In addition, the North Country Citation will be awarded to John B. Johnson Jr., of Watertown, chairman and chief executive officer of the Johnson Newspaper Corporation and editor and co-publisher of the Watertown Daily Times. Receiving honorary degrees are the Reverend Joan Brown Campbell, director of religion at the Chautauqua Institution and leader of the Global Women's Peace Initiative; John R. Cook '70, founder and president of the Environmental Careers Organization in Boston; and Pulitzer Prize-winning author William Kennedy, founder of New York State Writers Institute.
