A List 10/4/00 'SURVIVOR' TALK AT SLU IS CANCELLED CANTON -- A talk scheduled at St. Lawrence University by Colleen Haskell, a cast member of the hit TV show "Survivor" has been cancelled. Haskell recently became the first member of the cast to land a role in a movie, and she is required to begin shooting the film immediately. Her appearance had been scheduled for Saturday, October 7. A 24-hour version of "Survivor," with 12 St. Lawrence students as competitors, is still on, however. In the St. Lawrence version of the game, students will face a series of mental and physical challenges beginning on the campus quadrangle formed by Vilas Hall, E.J. Noble University Center, Dean-Eaton Residence Hall and Richardson Hall, then moving to the University's "ropes" course and returning to the quad. All "council" meetings will be held on the quad, but no one will be "voted" out of the game -- that will happen through drawn lots. The competition begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 6.-30- Back To News Releases Back to St. Lawrence Homepage
