ORIGINAL WORK 'COLORPLAY' TO BE PERFORMED AT SLU

CANTON -- Colorplay, an original family musical, will be
performed at St. Lawrence University's Gulick Theatre on
Friday and Saturday, February 11 and 12, at 7:30 p.m. each
evening. Performances are open to the public, free of charge.
The piece was written by Morley resident Dee Gallo,
with music by Christian Hosmer of Canton. It is directed by
Connie Meng, Canton, and features a cast of some 42 people,
including St. Lawrence students and area residents. Colorplay
is produced as part of the Hewlett Foundation Pluralism and
Unity Project at St. Lawrence.
Colorplay examines issues of diversity, tolerance and
the appreciation of differences among people, through a story
that may be understood and enjoyed by audiences of any age.
Its musical numbers reflect diversity as well, drawing from the
blues, salsa, waltz, rap and country. The cast includes adults
and children from the community, as well as University students.
