LANDSCAPE IN CHINESE ART IS PRESENTATION TOPIC AT SLU

CANTON – "Changing Conceptions of Landscape in Chinese Art," a slide show and 
lecture by SUNY Potsdam Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Art Morgan 
Perkins, will be presented at St. Lawrence University on Friday, February 27, 
at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Hepburn Hall, Room 218. The event is open to 
the public, free of charge.
	Perkins is also the director of the Charles T. Weaver Museum, Archive 
and Resource Center at SUNY Potsdam. He earned the Ph.D. in anthropology at 
Oxford University and his current book projects include an edited volume (with 
Howard Morphy) entitled The Anthropology of Art: Contemporary and Historical 
Perspectives and an ethnography entitled Reviewing Traditions: Anthropology 
and Art in Contemporary China. Perkins has recently curated exhibitions titled 
"What Are We Leaving for the Seventh Generation? Seven Haudenosaunee Voices" and 
"Icons and Innovations: The Cross-Cultural Art of Zhang Hongtu."
