AUTHOR ALAN CHEUSE IS PART OF SLU WRITERS SERIES

CANTON - Writer Alan Cheuse, a book reviewer for National 
Public Radio's "All Things Considered," will speak and 
read from his recent work in an appearance on Thursday, 
March 6, at 8:15 p.m. in Eben Holden at St. Lawrence 
University. The event is part of the University's Writers 
Series, and is open to the public, free of charge.
	Cheuse is the author of three novels, three 
collections of short fiction, and the nonfiction work 
Fall Out of Heaven: An Autobiographical Journey Across 
Russia (Atlantic Monthly Press, 1987). With Caroline 
Marshall, he has edited two volumes of short stories, 
and he has written a reading and writing text and co-edited 
a volume on writer Bernard Malamud. His own short fiction 
has appeared in The New Yorker, Black Warrior Review, 
Boston Globe Sunday Magazine, Another Chicago Magazine 
and elsewhere. Cheuse's articles, magazine journalism 
and reviews have also appeared widely. He holds a Ph.D. 
from Rutgers University and is on the faculty of the 
graduate program in creative writing at George Mason 
University.
