SLU, Canton Free Library To Hold 'Celebration Of Reading' April 18

CANTON - A "Celebration of Reading" for children of all ages will be held on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Canton Village Park and Paige Room of the Canton Free Library. The event, sponsored by St. Lawrence University's Center for Civic Engagement and Leadership and the library, is open to everyone, free of charge.

In addition to a variety of activities, participating children will receive their own new books at the event, designed to provide a fun and entertaining way for children to develop literacy skills and raise money for local literacy programming.

Activities include story time (plus reading to dogs); arts and crafts; story writing; games; live music and a free barbecue lunch.

There will also be drawings and donations will be accepted.
