St. Lawrence Sorority Hosting 'Casino Night' For Charity
CANTON - The St. Lawrence University chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority,
with the Foundation for Community Betterment, will host a Las Vegas-style
casino night on Saturday, April 26, from 7 to 11 p.m. on the third floor of
the Student Center on campus; tables open at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $55 per
person, which includes hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer and initial gambling
chips. Guests are asked to wear cocktail attire, and bring new or gently
used children's outerwear to donate.
Proceeds from the event, as well as the donated outerwear, will benefit
needy children in St. Lawrence County. Live music, blackjack, craps,
roulette and a competitive live auction are part of the event, as well
as food and drink.
The Foundation for Community Betterment is a national non-profit
organization founded in 2000, with a goal of making an immediate,
positive impact on the life of one individual or organization. It has
raised and distributed over $800,000 since its founding.
The casino night event will benefit the Churches of Canton, Inc., and its
program for providing winter outerwear for local children.
