SLU WRITERS SERIES HOSTS AUTHOR CAROL BLY

CANTON – Author Carol Bly will give a reading at St. Lawrence University 
on Thursday, February 10, at 8 p.m. in Herring-Cole, as part of the 
St. Lawrence Writers Series. It is open to the public, free of charge.
	Bly is the author of many books, including the short-story 
collection My Lord Bag of Rice (2000); the multi-genre anthology Changing 
the Bully Who Rules the World; and the essay collections Letters from the 
Country and The Passionate, Accurate Story. She has also published a 
memoir, An Adolescent's Christmas – 1944, and is the author of a text 
on creative writing, Beyond the Writer's Workshop: New Ways to Write 
Creative Nonfiction. Bly teaches Ethics in Literature at the University 
of Minnesota's Master of Liberal Studies program. She has also been a 
visiting professor in the University of Iowa's graduate writing program. 
Bly lives in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she is co-publisher of 
Bly & Loveland Press, a small press devoted to psychological aspects of 
ethics in people's public lives.
