TALK ON THE ART OF CALLIGRAPHY IS SET AT ST. LAWRENCE

CANTON - "The Art of Calligraphy," a talk and slide presentation 
by nationally recognized calligrapher Alice Koeth, will be 
given on Friday, October 18, at 7 p.m. in Herring-Cole Library 
at St. Lawrence University. The event, the seventh annual 
lecture on reading presented by the Friends of Owen D. Young 
and Launders Libraries, is open to the public, free of charge.
	Calligrapher for the Morgan Library, Koeth will speak 
about scribes, scripts and her career as a calligrapher.
	Koeth will also conduct an introduction to calligraphy 
workshop, on Saturday, October 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in 
Owen D. Young Library. The workshop is free, with lunch provided, 
but registration is limited to 15 participants; to register, 
or for more information, call University Archivist Mark 
McMurray, at 315-229-5476.
