DIRECTOR OF RESIDENTIAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES HIRED AT SLU

CANTON - Shawn-Eric Brooks, of West Hollywood, California, has been 
appointed director of residential learning communities and housing at 
St. Lawrence University, beginning in June.
	Brooks is a graduate of Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania, 
with a master's degree in student personnel services from Indiana 
University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree in higher education 
and organizational change from the University of California, 
Los Angeles. He earned a Ph.D. in higher education and organizational 
change from U.C. Los Angeles in January of this year.
	Since 1990, Brooks has been assistant director of residential 
life for staff and student leadership development at U.C. Los Angeles. 
He has also worked as a consultant and in a variety of positions in 
student personnel and residential life at U.C. Los Angeles and the 
Georgia Institute of Technology.
	In his new position at St. Lawrence, Brooks will be responsible 
for cultivating the residential living/learning environment for students.
