'Brain Blast' At St. Lawrence Celebrates Brain Awareness Week
CANTON - It's there all the time, controlling literally everything that you do, even your thoughts. But when was the last time that you could say you were actually aware of your brain?
St. Lawrence University will mark the Society for Neuroscience celebration of Brain Awareness Week with the second annual free "Brain Blast" on Friday, March 19, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Johnson Hall of Science. The fun, interactive event is open to the public free of charge and all ages are welcome.
St. Lawrence students and faculty in neuroscience and biology will present and demonstrate at the event, which includes memory and smell tests, "build your own neuron," "color your brain" and presentations of original research. New this year will be a presentation on false memories and information on a biosensor glove for digital handwriting being developed by St. Lawrence researchers for patients with motor disabilities.
