Associate Dean of the First Year and Associate Professor of Psychology

Courses I teach regularly:
First-Year Program - Evolution of the American Family, Consitutional Law and the Family
Psychology Department - Community Psychology, Psychology and Law
My research interests:
The psychological questions at the intersection of families and the legal system; high-risk alcohol use prevention in college students
Sample student projects I have supervised:
Children's Involvement in Custodial Decision Making: Judicial Attitudes and Behaviors
Examples of presentations, exhibitions, performances and published work:
Legal Issues in a Child-Centered, Child Protection System
Aspects of my teaching that students find most effective and interesting:
I believe in teaching with my mouth shut - a technique that decenters the professor and asks the students to be actively engaged in their own learning. My students appreciate the amount of agency and autonomy I give them in the classroom, and this appreciation translates into active and lively classes.
