SLU BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETS

CANTON -- The St. Lawrence University Board of Trustees held its winter 
meeting on campus on Saturday, February 10. Included in their actions were 
the following:

Trustee Leadership
	The Board elected Lawrence J. Winston '60 as chair, and elected 
Michael W. Ranger '80 and Sabra J. Bartlett '74 as vice chairs, all effective 
July 1, 2001. On that date, current Chair E.B. Wilson '53 will retire from 
the Board, having served for six years as chair and since 1985 as a trustee.

Tuition and Fees
	The Board approved an increase in the annual comprehensive fee 
(tuition, room and board) of 3.75 percent, from $31,240 to $32,410. This 
is the same percentage increase as last year. Tuition and fees will increase 
as follows:

Tuition		                  $23,765		          $24,655
Room		 	 	    4,020			    4,170
Board			            3,455		            3,585

Total			          $31,240		          $32,410

	In addition, the Board approved an increase in the student activities 
fee, already approved by the Thelomathesian Society, the student government 
organization. That annual fee will be $185 in 2001-2002, an increase of five 
dollars over the current fee of $180.
