CHARLES BAXTER IN SLU WRITERS SERIES

CANTON – Novelist Charles Baxter will read from his recent work in an 
appearance at St. Lawrence University on Thursday, September 25, as part 
of the University's Writers Series. The event, open to the public free of 
charge, will be in Eben Holden beginning at 8 p.m.
      Baxter's novel The Feast of Love was a finalist for the National Book 
Award. His new novel, Saul and Patsy, was published this month by Pantheon. 
He has published two other novels, four books of stories, three collections 
of poetry and a collection of essays on fiction, and is the editor of a 
collection of essays concerning memory. Baxter taught for several years 
at Wayne State University in Detroit and in 1989, moved to the University 
of Michigan-Ann Arbor and its MFA program, where he is adjunct professor 
of English.
