Micropaleontology Consultant Giving Talk At SLU Geology Alumni Conference
CANTON - St. Lawrence University Class of 1973 graduate Art Waterman, president of PaleoData, Inc., a New Orleans-based micropaleontology consulting company, will give the R.O. and Vera Bloomer Lecture on Friday, October 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Hepburn Hall, Room 218. The event, part of the Geology Alumni Conference, is open to the public, free of charge.
Waterman's talk is titled "The Applied Biostratigrapher: Resuscitation of an Endangered Species," and will feature a discussion of his career experiences. PaleoData is a centralized, full-service micropaleontological consulting firm specializing in Gulf Coast and offshore Gulf of Mexico biostratigraphic services, examining wells.
Over 70 alumni of the geology program at St. Lawrence are expected to attend the conference, to discuss career pathways and network with undergraduates about the broad field of earth science. Emeritus Chapin Professor of Geology J. Mark Erickson, who retired recently, will be honored for his 40-year teaching and research career.
