Tom Stoppard Play 'Arcadia' To Be Performed At St. Lawrence

CANTON - The play Arcadia, by Tom Stoppard, will be performed at St. Lawrence University Wednesday through Saturday, November 3 through 6, at 8 p.m. each evening in Gulick Theatre. Free tickets are required for admission. They are available at the Gulick Box Office November 1 through 5, from 1 to 5 p.m.; phone during open hours at 315-229-5748.

The story told in Arcadia merges science with human concerns and ideals, examining the universe's influence in our everyday lives and ultimate fates through the relationship between past and present, order and disorder and the certainty of knowledge. Set in an English country house in the years 1809 and 1812 and also in the present, the play examines the lives of modern scholars alongside the lives of those who lived in the house two centuries earlier.
