St. Lawrence Names Augsbury/North Country Scholars
CANTON - Ninety-three outstanding high school seniors from throughout Northern
New York State and Southeastern Canada have been named Augsbury/North Country
Scholars by St. Lawrence University.
Each student was nominated for the award by his or her guidance counselor.
Each participating high school nominates up to two candidates.
Students selected as Augsbury/North Country Scholars are awarded a merit
scholarship of $20,000 per year for four years, should they decide to enroll
at the University. Nominees who are admitted and decide to enroll at
St. Lawrence, but who are not selected as Scholars, receive an award of $10,000
per year for four years. Scholar status also includes additional benefits,
including priority registration.
Nominees are notified by the University of admission and scholar selection
decisions by December 20, but have until May 1 to make their enrollment choice
