CATHERINE AMES TO JOIN SLU DEVELOPMENT STAFF

CANTON - Catherine Ames, of Bedford, New York, has been appointed 
assistant director of corporate and foundation relations at St. Lawrence 
University. Ames, a native of Heuvelton and a 1992 graduate of 
St. Lawrence, begins her responsibilities in April.
	Ames, who earned her University degree in English, has worked 
as communications coordinator for WellCor America, Inc. in Oklahoma 
City; a public relations specialist for the Oklahoma State Regents 
for Higher Education; a publications manager for the American Textile 
Manufacturers Institute in Washington, D.C.; publications coordinator 
for the State Justice Institute in Alexandria, Virginia; and as an 
editor of several health-industry publications.
	At St. Lawrence, she will have responsibility for writing and 
editing proposals, reports and correspondence with corporations and 
foundations, as well as conducting  research for grant projects and 
assisting faculty and staff with grant administration.
