American Shakespeare Center's 'Almost Blasphemy Tour' At SLU


CANTON - The American Shakespeare Center brings its "Almost Blasphemy Tour" to St. Lawrence University for performances of The Winter's Tale, A Midsummer Night's Dream and 'Tis A Pity She's A Whore October 24 through 30. Tickets, at $5 each, are on sale in the Brewer Bookstore and Sullivan Student Center on campus.

All performances are in the Eben Holden Center; the performance schedule is:

- Monday, October 24, The Winter's Tale, 7:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, October 25, A Midsummer Night's Dream, 7:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 26, 'Tis A Pity She's A Whore, 7:30 p.m.
- No performance on Thursday, October 27
- Friday, October 28, The Winter's Tale, 7:30 p.m.
- Friday, October 28, 'Tis A Pity She's A Whore, midnight
- Saturday, October 29, The Winter's Tale, 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday, October 30, A Midsummer Night's Dream, 1:30 p.m. (children's matinee)

The American Shakespeare Center was founded on the idea that reproducing the staging conditions for which Shakespeare wrote can help modern audiences recover the essential vitality of his drama. From the start, the aim of the American Shakespeare Center has been not only to entertain but also to educate, and to entertain and educate as many people as possible.
