SLU HOSTS AMERICAN SHAKESPEARE CENTER ON TOUR

CANTON - The American Shakespeare Center will be at St. Lawrence University October 22 through 28, with performances of The Taming of the Shrew, Henry V and The Merchant of Venice.

Tickets are $3 each, at the Brewer Bookstore and Student Center Information Desk, beginning Thursday, October 4, for St. Lawrence students, faculty and staff, and Monday, October 8, for the general public.

The American Shakespeare Center was founded on the idea that reproducing the staging conditions for which Shakespeare wrote can help modern audiences recover the essential vitality of his drama. From the start, the aim of the American Shakespeare Center has been not only to entertain but also to educate, and to entertain and educate as many people as possible.

Performances, all in Eben Holden, are as follows:

- Monday, October 22, The Taming of the Shrew, 7:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, October 23, Henry V, 7:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 24, The Merchant of Venice, 7:30 p.m.
- Friday, October 26, The Taming of the Shrew, 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, October 27, Henry V, 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, October 27, The Merchant of Venice, midnight
- Sunday, October 28, The Taming of the Shrew, 1:30 p.m.
