American Shakespeare Center Sets SLU Performances
CANTON - The American Shakespeare Center brings its "Rough, Rude and Boisterous Tour" to St. Lawrence University for performances of Romeo and Juliet, All's Well That Ends Well and The Knight of the Burning Pestle October 26 through November 1. Tickets, at $5 each, are on sale in the Brewer Bookstore and Sullivan Student Center on campus.
All performances are in the Eben Holden Center; the performance schedule is:
- Monday, October 26, Romeo and Juliet, 7:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, October 27, All's Well That Ends Well, 7:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, October 28, The Knight of the Burning Pestle, 7:30 p.m.
- No performance on Thursday, October 29
- Friday, October 30, Romeo and Juliet, 7:30 p.m.
- Friday, October 30, The Knight of the Burning Pestle, midnight
- Saturday, October 31, All's Well That Ends Well, 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday, November 1, Romeo and Juliet, 1:30 p.m. (children's matinee)
The American Shakespeare Center was founded on the idea that reproducing the staging conditions for which Shakespeare wrote can help modern audiences recover the essential vitality of his drama. From the start, the aim of the American Shakespeare Center has been not only to entertain but also to educate, and to entertain and educate as many people as possible.
