ST. LAWRENCE RECEIVES GRANT FROM ALCOA FOUNDATION - Bradford
Catling, left, St. Lawrence University major gifts officer,
accepts a check from Mark R. Pensgen, controller of Alcoa's
Massena operations. The Alcoa Foundation has awarded the
University a grant of $6,000 in support of scholarships
for students. The Alcoa Foundation is a long-time supporter
of St. Lawrence and has been instrumental in assisting
the University in addressing high-priority needs on campus.
The Foundation's $30,000 grant to Campaign St. Lawrence
launched the Integrated Science Education Initiative
(ISEI) in 2000, making it possible for the University
to raise an additional $1,270,000 for the project. A
previous grant established the Alcoa Foundation Cultural
Events Program Fund, which hosts a performing arts event
for the community on campus every year. Pensgen is a 1975
