SLU ANNOUNCES STAFFING CHANGES

CANTON – St. Lawrence University has made a number of changes to 
the development and alumni and parent programs staffs, all taking 
effect in July.
	Kimberly M. Hissong, a 1994 graduate of St. Lawrence, will 
be the director of alumni and parent programs as of July 1; she 
has been associate director of alumni and parent programs since 
1999. In her new position, Hissong will be responsible for the 
overall management of alumni and parent programs, including overseeing 
administrative operations and budget management; supervising 
staff; Reunion fund-raising; and traveling to meet with Laurentians 
individually and at events. She will also work with other staff 
members to increase alumni volunteerism; assure accurate 
communication with alumni, parents and friends; and increase the 
involvement of alumni and parents with the University.  
      Jeffrey G. Abke, assistant director of alumni and parent 
programs since 2000, will become associate director of alumni 
and parent programs July 1. He is a graduate of Miami University 
in Oxford, Ohio, and will be responsible for fund-raising at the 
leadership level; fund-raising among University faculty and staff; 
oversight of daily operations; and working with the operations 
calendar for fund-raising and alumni relations programs.
      Colleen M. Fenity will become assistant director of alumni 
and parent programs on July 1. She joined the University advancement 
staff in October of 2002, as a development research specialist. A 
2002 graduate of Hamilton College, Fenity will be responsible for 
coordinating 80 to 100 regional events per year throughout the 
country; working with the Alumni Council to implement long-term 
event programming; and coordinating the Young Alumni Engagement 
Program, which includes working with the Student-Alumni Association. 
      Amy E. Owens has been appointed assistant director of 
alumni and parent programs for Reunion giving; she will begin July 
8. Owens graduated from Ohio University in 2001, and earned a 
Master of Education degree in May from the University of Massachusetts 
at Amherst. She will serve as the primary liaison for Reunion 
fund-raising efforts, including identifying, recruiting and managing 
Reunion fund-raising volunteer committees.
      Cynthia L. Clusen will be assistant director of parent leadership 
giving, beginning July 14. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University 
with an MBA from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business 
Administration at the University of Rochester, Clusen has held a 
variety of positions in development at Rochester, including 
assistant director of the Rochester Fund. Her duties at St. Lawrence 
will include visiting with parents to secure annual and major gifts 
and administering a variety of projects associated with the Parents 
Committee.
      Vice President for University Advancement Michael P. Archibald 
said, "These additions in staff will further strengthen University 
programs in alumni and parent relations. I am especially pleased that 
we have promoted three highly qualified  individuals from within the 
University, including Kim Hissong, Jeff Abke and Colleen Fenity."
