SLU SETS 31ST ANNUAL ADIRONDACK CONFERENCE 

CANTON -- The 31st annual Adirondack Conference will be held at 
St. Lawrence University's Canaras Conference Center on Upper Saranac 
Lake June 15-16. The conference provides a forum for local citizens, 
residents of the Adirondack Park and experts to discuss a range of 
issues pertinent to the region.
	On Friday, June 15, the conference begins with a performance 
of the Adirondack music of Chris Shaw, at 8:30 p.m.
	Two panel discussions will be held on Saturday, June 16:
	- Invasive species in Adirondack waters, with Sean Conin, 
executive director of the Adirondack Aquatic Institute; Ray Curran, 
of the Adirondack Park Agency; and Holly Crosson, of the Vermont 
Department of Environmental Conservation.
	- The Eurasion milfoil, with Michael Martin, senior project 
scientist with F.X. Browne Inc.; Lars Anderson, research leader with 
the Aquatic Weed Laboratory at the University of California at Davis; 
and a representative from the New York State Department of Environmental 
Conservation.
	Also on Saturday, Betsy Lowe, coordinator of the Natural History 
Museum of the Adirondacks project, will be joined by members of the Board 
of Directors to present an update on plans for the museum. A field trip 
to the site of the museum follows, and concludes the conference.
	All are welcome to attend any portion of the conference, or the 
entire conference, free of charge; a buffet lunch will be available for 
purchase.
