SLU DEAN MAKES ADMINISTRATIVE APPOINTMENTS
CANTON – St. Lawrence University Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs
Grant H. Cornwell recently announced the following appointments and changes
within the academic administration at the University:
- Associate Professor of Sociology Ronald J.O. Flores, who had coordinated
the planning process for the University's Summerterm, has been named director of
St. Lawrence's summer academic programs. A member of the St. Lawrence faculty
since 1993, Flores earned his bachelor's and master's degrees at Fordham University,
and the Ph.D. from Brown University.
- Professor of Economics Steven G. Horwitz has been appointed to a second
term as associate dean of the first year, directing the University's First-Year
Program. He began his first term in the position in 2001; Horwitz also is the interim
director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at St. Lawrence. A graduate of the
University of Michigan, with a master's degree and Ph.D. from George Mason University,
Horwitz has been on the faculty at St. Lawrence since 1989.
- Associate Professor of History Elizabeth A. Regosin, who is also the director
of academic advising, will coordinate the newly configured office of academic planning,
advising and services. That office will incorporate the responsibilities of Coordinator
of Academic Support Ginny B. Schwartz, Coordinator of Academic Support Lorie R.
MacKenzie and Director of Academic Services for Students with Special Needs John M.
Meagher. Regosin has been a member of the St. Lawrence faculty since 1997. She earned
her bachelor's degree at the University of California at Berkeley and her master's degree
and Ph.D. at the University of California at Irvine.
