SLU HIRES NEW ASSISTANT IN ALUMNI/PARENT PROGRAMS

CANTON -- Jeffrey G. Abke, of Perrysburg, Ohio, has been 
appointed assistant director of alumni and parent programs 
at St. Lawrence University. He began his new duties August 14.
	A May graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Abke was 
co-chair of the Miami University Student Foundation, sponsored by 
the school's alumni and parent programs office. In that position, 
he was involved in a variety of alumni and student recruitment activities.
	As assistant director of alumni and parent programs at 
St. Lawrence, Abke will be primarily responsible for creating and 
coordinating over 100 regional events per year throughout the country, 
to include management of young alumni committees and the University's 
award-winning Saints Network. Abke will also coordinate efforts of the 
GOLD Society (Graduates of the Last Decade), the University's young 
alumni component of fundraising.
