Students with disabilities are encouraged to register with the Disability and Accessibility Services Office (DASO) prior to arriving on campus. When you are ready, please fill out the Disability Registration form. Once this initial contact is made, the Director or Assistant Director will provide information regarding the process to receive academic accommodations at St. Lawrence. They will also take the opportunity to discuss your academic interests and specific learning needs. We strongly recommend that you register or contact the office prior to completing any of the selection forms. For more information, please refer to the DASO website or the DASO Flyer.

If you are an entering First-Year student or transfer student who has been required to take a First-Year Seminar [FYS] course, please review the email sent to you from Student Activities on how to set up your account. Your account set up must be completed before logging in to fill out the forms online.
Read through all of the Spring FYS Course Offerings carefully. Choose at least six top choice FYSs. Do not base your choices on the titles alone; be sure to read each description carefully.
Once you have selected six FYS courses that you are interested in taking, go to the FYS Preference Form to enter in your selections. This form must be submitted no later than
8:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018. You may use the comment field at the bottom of the form to provide information regarding the rationale for your choices.
You will be placed in your First-Year Seminar (FYS) by the Associate Dean of the First Year based on the choices you provide on the FYS Preference Form.
Along with placing you in your FYS, two more placements will take place:
- Your residence hall room and roommate: Members of the residence life staff will place you in a specific room based on your Housing Assignment Profile form. This form must be submitted no later than 8:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5 as well. Be sure to complete this form thoughtfully and accurately. You will be assigned a roommate based on the information that you present in this form. Housing questions may be directed to the Residence Life office at 315-229-5250.
- Your academic advisor: The Associate Dean for Academic Advising Programs will be the academic advisor for all incoming January students. The information you provide on the Your Academic Interests form will be most helpful. This form must also be submitted no later than 8:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5.
You will receive notification through your SLU e-mail of your FYS placement, your room assignment and roommate (if applicable) no later than Friday, January 12, 2018.
Please be sure that St. Lawrence always has your most current mailing address. Complete the Records: Change of Student Information form found on the Registrar's office website.
