I first found St. Lawrence when I was a young girl playing at the Lake Placid Soccer Center camps hosted at St. Lawrence University every summer.  While at St. Lawrence, one of the best experiences I have had has been working as a lab assistant in the Prep Lab of the biology department under the supervision of Jackie teRiele. It is a job centered in the exciting and challenging environment that is Johnson Hall of Science, filled with some of the hardest working professors and peers on campus.  This year I am also excited to begin working with Dr. Bill DeCoteau on an SYE studying impaired neuronal function in the rodent model.  Three years ago, I entered St. Lawrence knowing I wanted to major in neuroscience, but I had no idea how to apply this to my life. With the help and support of my advisor, Dr. Ana Estevez, I have decided that following graduation I will be attending a graduate program for Occupational Therapy with hopes of working in a military or VA hospital in the not too distant future.
