I am fascinated by the human mind and by the cellular processes which dictate mood, memory, and behavior. During my time at St. Lawrence, I have been involved with the research project Therapeutic Effects of Cerium Oxide Nanoparticles in Treating Oxidative Stress, and through this research I have furthered my understanding of multiple sclerosis disease progression and clinical treatment trials for medicinal drugs. Working in the biology department as a general biology teaching assistant and student director of the science writing center has given me a chance to pursue my biological interests while helping other students extend their knowledge. Additionally, my role as a campus EMT allows me to cover medical emergencies and practice clinical skills. After graduation, I hope to attend medical school.
