Democrat Andrew Wojcicki '98 is running for a Senate seat in
Florida, opposing a long-term incumbent.
Wojcicki, of Jacksonville, is running for Florida's Senate District
Eight seat, in opposition to 10-term Republican Jim King (R-Jacksonville).
An economics major at St. Lawrence, Wojcicki has been endorsed by
FCAN ("a grassroots organization that empowers citizens to influence
public policy by organizing and educating in areas where consumer voices
are underrepresented"), Florida League of Conservation Voters and the state-wide
Sierra Club.
An internal auditor for University of Florida Jacksonville Healthcare, Wojcicki
has done additional study at the University of North Florida. His official
biography states, "Andy is responsible for ensuring that his company's assets
are safeguarded, their costs are contained, and that they comply with local,
state, and federal laws and regulations. Prior to working with University of
Florida Jacksonville Healthcare, Andy was a member of the prestigious General
Electric Financial Management Program...In addition to his work with Jacksonville
Inner City Outings, Andy volunteers with the Bridge of Northeast Florida and
with the Boy Scouts of America -- he is a former Eagle Scout."
