An exhibition of quilts from the North Country's many Amish communities
is at the Cayuga Museum of History and Art in Auburn, New York, and is
curated by Professor of English Susan E. Ward.
Titled "Quilting Among The Plain People," the exhibition is part of
"Common Threads," a community-wide quilt show, and "examines how the group’s
simple lifestyle has changed along with the modern society that surrounds it."
Ward frequently lectures on the topic of Amish quilts, and has an impressive
collection of them. She has written an exhibit guide for the presentation,
available online from the museum's Web site, by clicking here.
The exhibition runs through January 4, 2004.
