Walter Jennings '84 has been appointed market leader and managing director
of Burson-Marsteller Australia, a public relations firm. Jennings has
responsibility for the firm's operations in the country and, together with
the established Australian leadership team, will direct the corporate, financial,
consumer, technology, healthcare and government relations practices.
Burson-Marsteller has offices in Sydney and Melbourne.
Jennings has more than 20 years' experience in the communications industry. He joins
Burson-Marsteller from Rogen in Australia, an international communications skills
training company. Prior to this, Jennings worked in the U.S. for Ford Credit.
An experienced advisor to government, Jennings previously headed operations in
Greater China for Gavin Anderson & Company, where he worked on issues such as the
return of Macau to the People's Republic of China.
Jennings' degree from St. Lawrence is in economics and
French. As an
undergraduate, he was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity and the swim team,
and he is a past member of the Alumni Executive Council.
Jennings is a member of the Arthur W. Page Society, an organization for senior public
relations and corporate communications executives, and he serves on the board of the
Global Public Affairs Institute, as well as the boards of two charities.
