Six students were inducted into Beta Beta Beta, the biology honor society on October 1, 2010.
The St. Lawrence University chapter of Beta Beta Beta was established in 1942.
Beta Beta Beta formally defines itself as "an honor and professional society
for students of the biological sciences." The national organization publishes a
journal, BIOS, to recognize outstanding individual and chapter
accomplishment. Biannual national and annual district convention offer
students and faculty from all over the country a chance to meet,
attend and contribute research presentations, and go on special field trips.
The St. Lawrence chapter, in keeping with the apprentice-biologist nature of the society
has sponsored an annual outstanding senior award, supports the department
with various types of service, and host fall and spring departmental picnics.
