Beta Beta Beta formally defines itself as "an honor and professional society
for students of the biological sciences." The national organization publishes a
journal, BIOS, to recognize outstanding individual and chapter
accomplishment. Biannual national and annual district convention offer
students and faculty from all over the country a chance to meet,
attend and contribute research presentations, and go on special field trips.
The St. Lawrence chapter, in keeping with the apprentice-biologist nature of the society
has sponsored an annual outstanding senior award, supports the department
with various types of service, and host fall and spring departmental picnics.
