Students in the lab for Environmental Studies 326, Once
and Future Forest, taught by Assistant Professor Jon Rosales,
plant trees at the Ecologically Sustainable Landscape site
More than 1,000 trees have been planted by students recently, on campus and
other University property, to serve as carbon off-sets and for future
sustainability efforts.
Recognizing that airline travel has an impact on the environment,
students traveling to San Salvador with the Marine Biology course and
those participating in a Summerterm course in Kenya planted trees on
campus as carbon off-sets. In addition, trees were planted at the
University's ecological
sustainability landscape site, by students in the course
Once and Future Forest, for later transplanting to sites on campus,
and students in the Environmental
Action Organization and Coalition
on Climate Change planted trees to mark Earth Day.
