A web site described as "the Ticketmaster for athletic event registration and the
Moviephone or Yahoo! for athletic event information" is the brainchild of Mitch Thrower '90, recently profiled in Forbes magazine online.
RaceGate is a web site for runners, swimmers, bikers, surfers,
sailors, triathletes--16 groups of enthusiasts so far--who pay fees to join
in 310,000 sporting events around the world. Combined, these athletes spend
about $15 billion on event registration fees, travel, equipment, clothes and
food.
The web site is scheduled to have a formal launch this fall. |
