Computer science major Thomas Kraft '12, of Seattle, WA, will present his research at the IEEE Workshop on Interactive Visual Text Analytics for Decision Making, part of VisWeek 2011, in Providence, RI. VisWeek is "the premier forum for visualization advances for academia, government and industry, bringing together researchers and practitioners with a shared interest in tools, techniques, technology and theory."
The workshop allows participants to explore a variety of topics; Kraft's presentation is titled "Identifying Topical Trends in Social Media with Topic Modeling." He conducted the research through the National Science Foundation Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates.
