Ten students and two faculty members participated in the third annual St. Lawrence Valley Mathematics Symposium, held November 5 and 6 at Clarkson University. Five students gave presentations at the event.
Topics, and their presenters, were:
- "Why Do Tournament Rankings Never Get It Right?," Jim Curro '12, John Goheen '12 and Brynn Hagen '12
- "How Cliques Make You Sick," Nancy Decker '11 (work done with Amber Rice '11)
- "Mathematicians Divide a Cake," Sachi Hashimoto '14
The symposium also included a keynote speech, panel discussions and a Math Jeopardy competition.
