St. Lawrence University Republicans joined with New York State College Republicans recently as volunteers in the campaign of Alexander "Sandy" Treadwell, Republican candidate for New York's 20th Congressional District.

John Pontius '10, A.J. Sammis '09, Andrew Spahr '09, Harry Neely '09, Hassan Raza '11, Adam Kyamatare '09, Paul Tranby '11 and Alex Reinman '11 participated in the efforts, which included door-to-door visits, putting yard signs together and assisting with a mailing.

SLU Republicans President Pontius says that the group also plans to assist as volunteers for the re-election campaign of Senator Susan M. Collins '75 (R-Maine).
